Communications
Notes are sent home regularly from meetings advising of up and coming events or other important information that you need to have – please make sure to get these from your child. If your child is going to miss a meeting, try and have one of their friends ask for a second copy of the note for your child. This year we are introducing a new events system, where an automatic email reminder will be sent out every two weeks.  Ideally we would like to have at least one email address for each family.

Badge Placement
It is a good idea to sew on new badges as soon as you get them.  If you find yourself challenged in the sewing department, one of our parents recommends WundaWeb as being very effective, though others remain to be convinced!  A diagram of where to place badges issued separately; please keep this handy in case you need to refer to it.

Losing things!
The first issue of the group scarf, Kubuk or any badge is free; if any item is lost it can be replaced but at a cost! :-)  Kubuks are presently €5, the Group scarf is €5 and any badge is €1.  Note that badges can only be replaced if the Cub has already been awarded it and has mislaid the original badge.

Also, please ensure your child’s uniform and belongings are labelled.

Investiture
About twice a year we hold an Investiture Ceremony.  This is a simple ceremony where new Cubs make their Cub Promise and are invested as a Cub.  They are given their group scarf and our group name tape, along with the Tenderfoot badge and their Kubuk.
Annual Fee
The Annual Fee covers the hire of the hall, equipment, programme materials, entries to competitions, registration fee to Scouting Ireland, badges, Leader training, Kubuks, group scarves and woggles.

It does not cover trips, outings, camps, Pack Holidays or travel.  We do our best to keep the cost of these to a minimum.  Thanks to fund-raising efforts last year, we have a small fund available to provide subsidies for some of these outings.

It is our group policy that where possible additional subsidy is made available to any child who might not otherwise be able to attend any outing due to cost; so please come and talk to a leader if this is ever an issue for you.

Field Trips, Outings and Camps
Over the last three years, we have had many day activities (Cycling, Track and Trail in Donedea Forest Park, trips to W5 in Belfast, Wicklow Gaol, and the National Heritage Park in Wexford) and Camps in Tain Holiday Park in Co Louth, Share Holiday Village in Co Fermanagh and Rostrevor Forest Park in Co Down and this year brought our Cubs to Cuboree 2006.

Taking Cubs away for 2 or 3 days means being able to trust each Cub to do their best and to obey the Leaders.  This trust has to be earned by each Cub before they can be taken away
