Cub Pack Information
We meet in the Slip Hall (beside the Church of Ireland) in Celbridge on Friday nights from 7:30pm to 9pm.

A Cub Pack is generally divided into small groups called Sixes.  A six may have 6-7 Cubs; each Six has a Leader called a ‘Sixer’ and an assistant Leader called a ‘Seconder’ who are chosen from the more experienced Cubs.

The adult leaders take names from Rudyard Kipling’s Jungle Book and are called either by the first names or by their Jungle Book names (if they have them) i.e. Akela, Baloo, Bagheera etc.

Leaders
Cub Leaders, who are all voluntary, are: Sarah Lane (Akela), Diarmuid Browne and Brian Callaghan.  We are also joined by Transition Year students from the Salesian College in Celbridge who are working on their Bronze Gaisce Awards.  Each year we also have students from Maynooth University, who participate in community programmes as part of their training.

Generally in a pack meeting we play games, often in teams which helps develop team work and co-operation, and do what we call badge work.  Details of what we cover for badge work are contained in the Kubuk which your child will get when they are invested.

Skills badges cater for all ages, often based on outside interests.

The Cub Pack also has outings, hikes, Pack Holidays, camps and joint outings and trips with other Packs and sometimes joint activities with the Beaver Colony and Scout Troop.  We plan to provide a fun packed and challenging programme for all our Cubs.
